The agreement
These Terms apply to the Storky Adventures Guide mobile app operated by South West Explorer Ltd, trading as Storky Adventures. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. Apple’s or Google’s store terms may also apply.
1. What Storky provides
Storky helps you explore curated places and build trips in Devon and Cornwall. It is an editorial planning aid—not a navigation, emergency, rescue, weather, traffic, booking, medical, accessibility or safety service.
2. Free access
Storky is free for users. There is no subscription, generation limit, paid consumer tier or in-app purchase, and you do not need an account to plan, browse or collect.
3. Check before travelling
Opening times, prices, bookings, parking, routes, tides, weather, transport, dog restrictions, access rights and accessibility can change without notice. You decide whether a plan is suitable for you and everyone in your care. Before travelling:
- Check current official information linked from the app.
- Check weather, tides, daylight, travel and access conditions where relevant.
- Obey signs, closures, landowner instructions and local law.
- Assess suitability for everyone in your group and carry what they need.
- Use another plan when conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
4. Safety and emergencies
Outdoor and travel activities carry real risks, including traffic, uneven or slippery ground, cliffs, tides, water, changing weather, livestock and unreliable mobile signal. Use current official guidance, suitable maps, clothing and equipment, tell someone your plans where appropriate, and turn back or choose another stop when conditions are unsuitable.
Never enter a closed or private area, cross a barrier, trespass, rely on the app in an emergency or interact with it while driving. A passenger should operate the app and Maps. In the United Kingdom, call 999 or 112 for urgent emergency help; at the coast ask for the Coastguard.
5. Passport, children, access and dogs
No stamp, postcard, medal or coin requires you to take a risk. A map pin or check-in radius shows only that a device is nearby; it does not prove that a route, entrance or area is public, open or safe. Skip the check-in and record a genuine visit later whenever getting closer would be unsafe, unlawful or unsuitable.
The Storky Adventures Coin shown in the app is a design preview for a planned future reward. Claims and verification are not open, and on-device progress does not currently create an entitlement to a physical item. If the promotion opens, separate published rules will state the eligibility, qualifying period, verification, availability, privacy and fulfilment terms before participation begins.
A responsible adult must supervise children and make decisions for anyone in their care. Keep dogs under effective control and follow local restrictions. Accessibility descriptions are source-specific planning information, not a guarantee: confirm the exact entrance, route, surfaces, gradients, facilities, assistance and evacuation arrangements you need directly with the operator.
6. Curated information
We take reasonable care when selecting and refreshing place records, but practical information can become incomplete, unavailable or out of date. Durations, distances, costs and travel times are estimates unless clearly stated otherwise. Inclusion does not guarantee availability, quality, safety or suitability and does not imply sponsorship unless a relationship is clearly labelled.
7. Location, Maps, bookings and external services
Foreground location is optional and manual search remains available. Maps links hand a destination or ordered stops to a third-party mapping service; check the destination, entrance and route yourself. A mapped walking route is not confirmation of a public right of way, safe crossing, lighting, pavement, gradient or step-free access.
Storky does not sell tickets, rooms or transport and is not the agent of a venue, accommodation or booking provider. Any booking or purchase is made directly with the third party under its own terms, prices, cancellation rules and privacy policy.
8. Your device data and Recovery Pack
Plans, Passport progress, private memories and the optional travel profile are stored locally in the public native v1 release. You are responsible for keeping any exported Recovery Pack private and maintaining a copy if the collection matters to you. A Recovery Pack is a recovery aid, not a guarantee against every device, file or storage failure.
Community sharing and account controls
Accounts are optional. If you share content, use a first name or nickname you are comfortable making public. Submit only content you created or have permission to share, describing your genuine experience. You keep ownership and grant us permission to store, resize, moderate and display your submitted content to operate Storky until it is removed.
Do not submit abusive, threatening, hateful, sexual, exploitative, illegal, deceptive or spam content, dangerous instructions, personal attacks, or another person’s private information. Do not post identifiable children or bystanders without appropriate permission. We may reject, remove or restrict content and suspend posting access to protect the community.
All submissions require approval before publication. Use Report for review on a community item or contact info@storkyadventures.com about a concern. Hide this contributor removes their content from your view. Use My contributions to remove your own items, and Account & privacy to delete your account. Deleting the account does not delete device-only plans, private memories or Recovery Packs.
9. Acceptable use and intellectual property
Do not scrape, republish or commercially exploit the curated catalogue except where law permits; disrupt or access the service without authorisation; remove branding or notices; or use Storky in a way that endangers people, property, wildlife or the environment.
The app, Storky name and mark, writing, design, graphics and software belong to South West Explorer Ltd or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence for your own non-commercial travel planning under these Terms and the applicable store rules. Third-party names and services belong to their owners.
10. Availability and responsibility
We may add, update or retire places and features, or suspend connected services for security, maintenance or legal reasons. Local bundled content may remain usable without a connection, but maps and websites require connectivity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, South West Explorer Ltd is not responsible for loss or harm caused by conditions or decisions outside its reasonable control, failure to follow live official information, third-party information or services, unsafe or unlawful use, or use of this consumer app for business.
11. Ending use, law and contact
You may stop using and delete the app at any time. These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers elsewhere in the United Kingdom retain mandatory protections and may be able to bring proceedings in their home courts.
